Garden of The Gods

Natural limestone formations and conglomerates are among the geologic landscapes found in the Garden of Gods. The park is a registered National Natural Landmark with towering rock formations, Visitor & Nature Center and museum. Famous for hiking, technical rock climbing, road and mountain biking and horseback riding, it is the city’s most visited park attracting two million visitors a year. Events like the Pro Cycling Challenge Prologue are hosted in the park. Exhibits about minerals, geology, plants and local wildlife, as well as Native American culture can be found in their museum.

Pikes Peak is one of the most visited mountains in the world and an American icon. The summit is a national historic landmark that can be reached through the Pikes Peak Highway, the Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway or for the more adventurous, the Barr or Crags hiking trails. The summit house showcases permanent indoor and outdoor interpretive exhibits with interactive digital features to allow visitors to construct their own experience. The building is designed to take advantage of the mountain’s ecological conditions while letting visitors enjoy the peak.

Royal Gorge Bridge and Park

An important part of Colorado’s history and a local family attraction is Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. The bridge has been attracting visitors since 1929 thus making it the state’s top attraction. It is one of the highest bridges in the United States and crosses the gorge above the Arkansas River. Their Skycoaster zipline and Via Ferrata climbing tour are perfect for guests seeking excitement and a unique thrill. The park also offers food concession areas perfect for picnics and special entertainment at Elk Park Amphitheater.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

The zoo is home to hundreds of animals and rated the 4th best zoo in America. Guests can interact with small mammals during creative painting sessions. The mountain zoo breeds endangered animals and participates in over 30 species survival plan programs. Aside from the animals, the zoo also provides fun attractions like the Carousel, Mountain SkyRide and Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo shares the natural wonders of the world with kids of all ages.
