See a Life-Sized Gingerbread Car in Colorado Springs

The Christmas magic is not over yet!

You’ll be in awe over the Broadmoor Special’s life-sized gingerbread car!

Not just any car either, a 1918 Piece Arrow Touring Car.

This masterpiece took 700 eggs, 482 pounds of sugar, and 400 pounds of chocolate to build!

You can find this display at the Penrose Heritage Museum.

Last year, the chefs made a life sized gingerbread house that you could actually dine in!

Just remember to look with your eyes instead of your hands….or mouth!

The historic Broadmoor has had a tradition of making an extravagant gingerbread structure since the 1960s. This year, they commemorated the 100th year of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb (which was 2016) with a gingerbread version of Spencer Penrose's customized racing car known as The Broadmoor Special. Spencer Penrose started the hill climb and this car was a part of the action for many years. You can see the real Broadmoor Special at the Broadmoor housed in the Penrose Heritage Museum…which is a must visit for so many reasons!
